Access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is a fundamental human right and a critical component of sustainable development. However, growing challenges such as rapid urbanization, water quality, climate change, and resource mismanagement threaten water security for millions worldwide. In this context, effective water governance and capacity building are essential to ensure equitable and sustainable water management, particularly in vulnerable regions.
The increasing frequency of climate-induced events, including droughts, floods, wastewater discharge and rising temperatures, underscores the urgent need for resilience-focused approaches in water management. Integrating climate resilience into WASH and water governance frameworks is pivotal to safeguarding communities from the adverse impacts of these challenges. Moreover, leveraging innovative technologies and inclusive governance models can enhance water systems' efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
This conference aims to bring together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and community leaders to explore solutions at the intersection of water governance, water quality, WASH, and climate resilience. By fostering dialogue, sharing experiences, and promoting collaborative action, the event seeks to accelerate progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 12 (Climate Actions) and 17 (Fostering Partnerships) strengthening the water sector and resilience of communities to future challenges.
The conference provides a platform to highlight successful interventions in Municipal services delivery, identify knowledge gaps, Indus River water quality, circular economy, nature inspired water treatment methods and develop actionable strategies to address water governance, water-related issues, ensuring a sustainable future for all.
